Guilty Crown Review
Info Post
Guilty Crown is a good anime that starts off with a setting of Japan in 2029. The story takes place after the event of the spread of an epidemic that initiated chaos around Japan that made an event called "Lost Christmas" incident. To take control of the uproar in the city and its falling economy, a multinational organization called GHQ takes charge and and rules over Japan, taking away it sovereignty.
This is a story of Ouma Shu, a seventeen year old High School student of Tennouzu First High School. He was not just an introvert protagonist, he chooses to have an unsociable personality, preferring not to mingle with other's business to avoid troubles. But as the story progresses, his personality changes as events in the story transpired. This was common for a type of anime with an introvert protagonist but it makes you feel interested on how Ouma Shu will turn out from a type of person running out from other's people trouble. Shu started changing his personality when he met Inori Yuzuhira, the vocalist of EGOIST and a member of Funeral Parlor and its Leader Tsutsugami. There will be various cases on which, Shu faces one of his most fears and how he takes his first step on the series.
The protagonist Ouma Shu receives a kind of power called Void Genome known as "Power of Kings", it is a genetic weapon that has the ability to extract "Voids" from individuals under the age of 17. A Void is the physical form of the personality of a person and is unique to the individual. Eye contact is necessary to extract a Void. However, it is possible to extract a void by making a person believe that there is eye contact. The person from whom the Void is extracted remembers nothing of the incident due to shock and the Void is returned to the original owner after use. With this, the anime shows how flexible and its limits on its usage of its powers. It makes me wonder what will the void of the other character looks like. Makes you think after watching the anime or while watching the show, "I wonder how my voids looks like?"
Guilty Crown also introduces a little bit of Mecha Genre for its viewers called "Endlave" that is controlled by a human brain. But the catch for this type of Control is they also experience any damage that is happening to their Endlaves, the pilot must disconnect themselves before their Endlave is destroyed or they will suffer a backlash. This is new type of controlling its humanoid mecha in an anime and I found it real interesting on how the protagonist will deal with them.
I could give out 8 out of 10 Points for the music of Guilty Crown composed by Hiroyuki Sawano and its opening and ending songs sung by Supercell. The music have good mix Techno theme and its English and German Songs included as its back songs for the anime. If you will listen or download an Original Track of Guilty Crown, I could recommend "Krone" for its epic and mellow melody and "Genesis" for a strong tune.
All in all, Guilty Crown is an anime that you must watch. Besides it interesting story line, it has lessons that it can give. It is up to you find out about that. I recommend that you watch this anime when you have nothing to worry about for you to absorb all of the things that will happen in the show.
