With only a few months before the graduation day of the high school students, there are other fourth year students now and the upcoming seniors that don’t know what kind of course they will enroll to and what kind of job they will get yet. Jobs have been a big trouble in the Philippines for a long year now and it is yet to be solved. The Department of Labor and Employment and the Commission of Higher Education issued jobs that needs employment for further development like in the Business sector, Agricultural sector and Technological sector in the Philippines.

Surfing through the net and watching news update about these courses, I have come up with five of these hot careers that could be taken up and land a job after graduation or after taking up a master’s degree and a doctor’s degree.

1.) Accountancy

Money is what a business makes the economy roll. The expertise of this course is that they have ways on how to properly liquidate and compute the expense and income of a business and how to analyze number problems that can affect the business itself.

2.) Business Administration

The program of Business administration in the Philippines is designed to create graduates that are knowledgeable, competent and equipped with necessary skills for competing in the world of global business. With basic and clear understanding of the functions of a company be it in marketing, finance, systems and human resource department thus, preparing them for managerial and supervisory positions.

There are currently seven Majors of the Business Administration in the country:

  • Management Accounting
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Marketing
  • Financial Management
  • Business management
  • Economics
  • Human Resource Development Management

3.) Computer Science

With a fast-paced technological advancement in the world today, computer science can be one of the things that are needed sooner or later. If you are a “techy nerd” or likes to work with different techs, consider this course as your stepping stone as this course is highly marketable and desirable to hiring managers because of its relevant training and skills in a very specific field.

As a computer science student, you might learn about computer programming, software design, computer systems, and how people interact with computers, according to the College Board.

4.) Graphic Designing

As a student of graphic design, you might learn to work with type and images to create the look for items such as CD inserts, posters, books, magazines, websites, and other products.

The main job responsibility of a Graphic Designer is the arrangement of visual elements in some type of media. Graphic designers can work in a variety of environments. Whilst many will work within companies devoted specifically to the industry, such as design consultancies or branding agencies, others may work within publishing, marketing or other communications companies. Increasingly, especially since the introduction of personal computers to the industry, many graphic designers have found themselves working within non-design oriented organizations, as in-house designers. Graphic designers may also work as free-lance designers, working on their own terms, prices, ideas, etc.

5.) Mechanical Engineering

A Mechanical Engineering program provides a strong foundation on the various types of machines, their elements, operation, construction and functions to prepare graduates for works related to machine design.

One big career is manufacturing, as companies look to refine production. Another is the growing field of solar power. Careers in these fields will drive demand for people with degrees in mechanical engineering.

As a mechanical engineering learner, you might get to learn all about the science that goes into making machines work, you might also learn how to design gadgets and improve old ones as part of a team.

The courses provided are only one-fourth of the career paths that will be a hit for this year and for the upcoming years. But it is still best to plan out your career beforehand so that after graduation, you can know what kind of life you are aiming and employment or business will come in easily.
